Hydraulic Lifts: Let’s take a closer look at the components of lifts.


Today, we’re going to talk about the most basic structural components of lifts, hydraulic lifting platforms, and hydraulic lifts. We’ll also take you on a closer look at the various parts that make up these lifting devices.

1. The base of the lifting platform

Each lifting platform will have a chassis made of a welded frame, with five legs mounted on the chassis to distribute the load from the upright columns. Of these five legs, four are positioned away from the platform’s base, while one is located at the center of the platform base, thereby enhancing the platform’s stability. When using a single-column design, the four outer legs should be spread out as much as possible to further improve the stability of the single-column lifting platform.

2. Column

The upright posts are constructed using a triangular structure welded from square steel tubes, frames, and reinforcing bars. The standard segment height is... 1.5 m; in the vertical direction, it is connected to the specified height using M20×80 high-strength bolts. This column is divided into standard columns and limit columns. The limit posts are primarily used at the bottom and top. When the microswitch on the actuator comes into contact with the limit block on the limit post, the actuator will automatically stop, thereby preventing the actuator from colliding with the base or the outside of the column.

3. The crossbeam of the lifting platform

The lifting platform beam is the foundational component of the working surface of a construction elevator; it is a triangular structural frame welded together from three square steel tubes.

4. Drive

The drive unit is the power source for the lifting platform and enables vertical movement along the upright column via the rotation of two electric motors. Each motor is equipped with a self-braking mechanism that securely locks the drive unit onto the upright column in the event of a power failure. The motors move along the rack on the upright column through a gear mechanism.

5. Safety protection components

The main safety protection structures include safety gates, guardrails, safety guards, scaffold boards, and platform stairways. The platform safety gate is vertically mounted on the drive unit. Through various sensors, the system detects when the safety gate is not properly closed, preventing the drive from starting normally. The drive and lifting platform can only be activated when the safety gate is fully closed. The guardrails are pre-fabricated structural frames that are welded together and inserted into the crossbeams of the information platform.
